How credits work

Credits are spent only when Signl delivers a verified contact. Searching, misses, retries and cached repeats are all free.

A credit is spent only when Signl delivers a verified contact. Searching companies and signals is free and unlimited on every plan. If a lookup finds no verified email, you are not charged. Asking again for a contact you already have is free too, because it is served from cache.

What is free

  • Company and signal searches, unlimited on every plan
  • The weekly drop of newly funded companies
  • Checking your credit balance
  • Any enrichment attempt that fails to find a verified email
  • Re-requesting a contact you already unlocked

What costs a credit

One credit is spent when a verified decision-maker contact is delivered to you: name, title, verified email and LinkedIn profile. That is the only billable event.

This is unusual, and it is the point. Most tools charge per lookup attempt, so at a typical match rate you pay for roughly one wasted lookup for every two that work. That structure gets worse when an AI agent is doing the asking, because agents try far more lookups than a person would. Charging only on delivery keeps your cost tied to what you actually receive.

Watching your balance

Your balance appears in the dashboard header and on the billing page, which also shows a full history of every credit granted and spent. Your agent can check it mid-conversation too, just by asking.

If you run out, enrichment stops with a clear message and nothing is charged. Search keeps working. See what happens when I run out of credits.

Getting more

New accounts earn credits by completing setup steps rather than receiving them all at once. See earn your free credits for the full list.

Common questions

Am I charged if no email is found?

No. If Signl cannot find a verified email for a contact, you are not charged. We absorb the provider cost of the attempt. This is deliberate: you should never pay for data you did not receive.

Does searching cost credits?

No. Company and signal searches are free and unlimited on every plan, including the free tier, so you can refine a query as many times as you need before spending anything.

What if I ask for the same contact twice?

The second request is served from cache at no charge. Asking a targeted follow-up with a specific job title does run a fresh search, because it is looking for a different person.
