Connecting takes about two minutes. In your AI client's connector settings, add Signl and approve access through OAuth, or paste an API key you generate in the dashboard. Once connected, your agent can search companies, read buying signals and pull verified contacts inside any conversation.
Option 1: OAuth (recommended for Claude and ChatGPT)
- Open your client's connector settings. In Claude this is Settings, then Connectors, then Add connector.
- Paste the Signl MCP server URL shown on the Connect page of your dashboard.
- Approve access when the browser opens. You will be asked to log in to Signl and confirm.
You never copy a secret with this method, and you can revoke access for one client at a time from the dashboard.
Option 2: API key
Use this for the CLI, scripts, or clients without an OAuth flow.
- In the dashboard, open API Key and generate one. It begins with
sk_signl_. - Copy it immediately. The key is displayed exactly once and stored only as a SHA-256 hash, so it cannot be shown again.
- Add it to your client's configuration as a bearer token.
Treat the key like a password: anyone holding it can spend your credits. Revoke it in the dashboard if it is ever exposed.
Confirm it worked
Once connected, the Signl MCP tool reference lists every tool, its parameters and what it costs.
Ask your agent what Signl tools it can see:
What Signl tools do you have access to?
It should list the search, signal and enrichment tools. If it says it has none, the usual causes in order are: the connector was added but not authorized, you are in a different workspace or project than the one you connected, or the client needs restarting to refresh its tool list. See my agent cannot see Signl's tools if it persists.
Connecting an agent also unlocks credits on your account. See earn your free credits.
